What's new
New features and improvements to Mona.
v1.5.0
October 31, 2026
Mona can now search the law.
New
- Mona: Searches US statutes, regulations, court rules, court opinions, and agency guidance. Mona is told to keep party names, amounts, and other case facts out of its searches, and to check who issued a result, its jurisdiction, and the version in force before relying on it.
v1.4.0
October 31, 2026
Mona's analyses now lead with the answer, label every figure, and start from the client's goals.
New
- Figure labels: Every figure Mona, Trace, and the Statement agent write is labeled Verified, Computed, Estimate, Declared, or Client-stated. An estimated value shows as Estimate on the statement, with its range, its basis, and the valuation it needs.
- Pension share: Mona computes the non-member spouse's share of a paying pension once, by coverture, and the case memory, ED analysis, and support analysis cite that one figure.
- Interrogatories and subpoenas: Each is now its own kind of work product.
- Comments: Identifiers and date ranges in a discovery demand carry their reasoning in a comment you can see and export removes.
Improved
- Memory: It opens with the procedural posture. Findings rank by expected impact, and correcting what the case has wrong ranks first. The Objective holds the client's goals with the progress on each, and the Case summary has a Parties table.
- Work product: Each opens with a brief answer, and each revision says in one line what changed. After each write, Mona names the work product it left behind and adds a task to revise it.
- Source conflicts: A conflict between sources is a Finding with both readings. Mona doesn't choose.
- ED analysis: It starts from each party's share, then who keeps what, then what moves the payment, with your open calls set apart. Unaccounted marital funds withdrawn before commencement are added back.
- Support analysis: It runs now, at final judgment, and at each foreseeable change, such as retirement. It argues the client's side and shows the client's weak points the other side's way.
- Discovery demand: It reads the whole case first, names each account by institution and last four digits, and numbers its requests in order of likely effect.
- Trace: It counts only a party's own accounts on that party's expense line.
- Intake: It asks each party's health, disability, and coverage.
Fixed
- Paged documents: A long bullet now breaks between its paragraphs, tables, and nested lists, so a table no longer runs across a page gap.
v1.3.4
October 28, 2026
Statements get their own page.
New
- Statements: Shows what each party filed and where each filing stands, as cards with six steps from Upload to Ready in analysis.
- Upload statement: Asks whose statement it is and says what the upload would become before you add it.
- Confirm details: One dialog, on Statements and in Documents, confirms the type, party, and form revision beside the statement's pages, then starts the reading.
Improved
- Retries and deletes: You can retry a stopped reading or stopped matching, and delete an upload until reading starts.
- Accounts: Cards draw each of their 13 weeks as a bar, with credits above the axis and debits below.
- Case pages: They now sit on white, warnings are orange, and the sidebar marks Documents and Statements while something needs you.
v1.3.3
October 26, 2026
Financials splits into separate pages, and Documents, Memory, Work product, and Case Context get new layouts.
New
- Caseboard: One overview of what needs you, where the case stands, activity, key facts, and milestones.
- Missing accounts: The accounts the case's money reached with no statements, with how Mona found each, the months money moved, its transactions, and Ask Mona to draft the request.
- Timeline: Every account's statements on one page with the Required window. Gaps between statements are red dashed lines.
- Document peek: Click a document to see it beside the list, or Open to go to its page.
Improved
- Documents: A rail of views sits beside the list, and badges appear only for a problem. Needs review groups documents by problem, with the review action on each group's header.
- Memory and Work product: They read as paged US Letter documents with the firm, the privilege notice, page numbers, a sources appendix, and version history.
- Work product and Case Context: Each is a table beside a rail of views, and New or Add context opens a gallery of every kind.
- Ledger findings: An unbalanced statement gives the gap in money, such as "Transactions are $209.89 off the closing balance."
- Net worth analysis: The header opens the case's statements from the party's name and says the filing's state in words.
- Case sidebar: It can auto-hide, switched by its right edge or ⌘\.
v1.3.2
October 22, 2026
Adds Accounts, Cash flow, and proposed lines on the statement, and Trace no longer waits for approval.
New
- Accounts: Every account as a card or on one timeline, with its latest balance, 13 weeks of activity, and missing months named. Each account has Summary, Transactions, and Statements tabs.
- Cash flow: Money in above money out by month, quarter, half, or year, and each row opens its transactions. Transfers between the case's own accounts are paired and left out of the categories, so the totals match the statements.
- Proposed lines: A line the Statement agent proposes shows in its section as a dashed row reading Not declared, outside every total. Adding one opens it on Trace, ready to start from what the agent found.
- Reported pay: The Statement agent flags net pay a W-2 or paystub reports with no deposit on a pay date the statements cover.
Improved
- Trace: Its results now apply without waiting for your approval, and it runs faster. The Statement agent's proposed lines still wait for you.
- Mona: It edits passages of the case memory instead of rewriting it, so small updates are faster. You can rename chats, and a spinner marks one Mona is working on.
- Sidebar: Case controls and actions stay in place while pages and chats scroll.
Fixed
- Agent runs: A stalled run now retries on its own, and Mona's report waits for the outcome.
v1.3.1
October 17, 2026
Fixes for Trace, and one thread for all three agents.
Improved
- Agent threads: Mona's chat now scrolls and loads earlier messages the same way Trace's and the Statement agent's do.
- Queued messages: You can cancel a queued message until Mona starts on it.
- Insights: The separate page is gone, and Documents shows them.
Fixed
- Trace: It no longer refuses an expense or income line for a missing date. It takes a known amount when the evidence supports one.
- Trace: Ledger searches and proposals that failed on the first try now go through.
v1.3.0
October 16, 2026
Adds the Statement agent, work product, the 2026 form, and property value lookups.
New
- Statement agent: Reviews a party's whole statement: totals against lines, relationships across sections, changes between filings, and possible omissions. Each flag names the document that would settle it, and you add or dismiss each proposed line.
- Work product: Mona writes a discovery demand, a support analysis, or an ED analysis, and Trace writes a separate property proof. Each is cited and kept as revisions.
- 2026 form: Mona reads the 1/1/26 revision of the Statement of Net Worth, and the 6/2016 form shipped beside it.
- Property values: With no appraisal in the case, Trace saves the property's Redfin page and uses its estimate as a provisional value. Only the address leaves Mona, and an appraisal stays the authority.
- Subagents tab: The runs a chat starts now show beside it.
- Case Context: The Intake page gets this new name. You can add your own note as a source, which Mona cites by paragraph, and rename any source.
Improved
- Memory: Tasks split by who acts next, Attorney or Mona. The Case summary is tables, and what's missing is marked Missing.
- Citations: A cited document reading lays out its data as a table or labeled fields.
- Review duplicates: Steps through each copy beside its original, where you delete the copy, keep both, or skip.
Fixed
- Agent runs: One unreadable job could stop all agent work. A bad job now fails alone, and the rest run.
v1.2.1
October 8, 2026
Citations read the same everywhere.
Improved
- Citations: Every cited source shows as one line in footnotes and the PDF, and as a card in previews. Footnotes open their card on hover in the case memory and Mona's chat.
Fixed
- Usage: Mona's spend was missing from the case's usage view, and it's now counted.
v1.2.0
October 8, 2026
Introduces Mona, the case memory, and intake.
New
- Mona: A case-level agent you chat with, which reads the memory, the statement, intake, documents, and the ledger. It hands one question about one item to Trace, whose proposals wait for your approval.
- Memory: One document per case, kept as revisions: Overview, Case summary, Findings, Objective, Decisions, and Tasks. Every footnote cites evidence and shows as stale when its source changes. It updates only when you click Update memory.
- Intake (now Case Context): Questionnaires, Mona's or your firm's own, filled by you, by the client through a private link, or from an uploaded paper copy. Recordings, made in the browser with consent or uploaded, are transcribed with speaker labels. Nothing reaches Mona until you confirm it.
- Get started: The checklist is back in the case sidebar.
v1.1.0
October 1, 2026
Large cases load, and hard documents hold up better.
New
- Party names: You can fix a misspelled party name and re-match its documents.
- Split review: You can zoom, pan, and rotate pages.
Improved
- Large cases: They load reliably, and only the documents that changed reload.
- Ledger extraction: When Mona can't decide on a statement, it holds the statement for you. Every ledger page carries citations.
- Net worth analysis: When a filer wrote something in place of a value, the statement shows what they wrote instead of calling it omitted.
Fixed
- Processing failures: They can now be recovered, and they're explained.
- Search: A document opened from search opens on the Documents page.
v1.0.1
September 22, 2026
Trace's results are easier to read and stay within its job.
Improved
- Trace: It reports what was declared, what the evidence supports, and the difference, without grading. It also judges whether an institution, account number, or title holder matches the evidence.
- Status: Verdict becomes Status, with three readings: Material, Field, and Counts.
- Details: A full tab beside Agent, and switching doesn't reload either. Each field shows its value, its explanation, and its evidence.
Fixed
- Trace history: Loading it and comparing earlier assessments now work.
v1.0.0
September 15, 2026
Mona is rebuilt around specialized agents and permanent records.
New
- Agents: Document reading, ledger extraction, statement extraction, population, and Trace each run as their own agent.
- Net worth analysis: Each line has a panel with a status per field.
- Agent conversations: A running turn shows its work and collapses into a summary, with tool calls in attorney language.
- History: Filed statements, financial items, evidence, readings, and citations keep their history, and case facts such as the commencement date are versioned.
